The Winnipeg Jets will be without the reigning MVP for several weeks.

Goaltender Connor Hellebuyck is preparing to undergo arthroscopic knee surgery which will put him on the sidelines for four to six weeks.

Hellebuyck was having a strong start to the season, posting a 8-6-0 record with a .913 save percentage and 2.51 goals-against average.

The Jets goaltender is also a favourite to be the starting goalie for Team USA at the Olympics in February 2026.

While the Jets have yet to comment on the injury to Hellebuyck, several media outlets have reported the news. Goalie Thomas Milic has been recalled from the Manitoba Moose on Friday.

The Jets are right back in action Friday night with former first round pick, Nikolaj Ehlers set to return to Winnipeg with the Carolina Hurricanes.
