Motorists can continue to expect to see more police officers on the streets of Winnipeg through December, including New Year’s Eve, with the Checkstop Program.
After the second week of running the program, between December 8 through 14, including assistance of Manitoba RCMP on Dec. 13, 547 vehicles were stopped, 22 drivers were impaired, which included five Immediate Roadside Prohibitions (ASD Fail), one driver who failed a drug-screening test (ADSE Positive), and 16 drivers who registered a warning.
The Winnipeg Police Service would like everyone to have a safe and enjoyable holiday season.
