A Winnipeg arena that was abruptly shut down late last year has officially reopened.

While doing scheduled restoration work, Terry Sawchuck Arena was shut down out of an abundance of caution after unexpected structural issues were discovered.

Rental groups were contacted, and ice time was relocated.

The City of Winnipeg announced on Tuesday that the busy arena will reopen on Wednesday, Jan. 7.

Casual ice time rentals can now be booked in leisureONLINE.

Terry Sawchuck Arena is located at 901 Kimberley Ave.
