55-year-old in custody after alleged sexual abuse of teen

A 55-year-old Winnipeg man is facing some serious charges after allegedly sexually exploiting a teenage girl.

Winnipeg police first became aware of inappropriate sexual contact between a teenage girl and a 55-year-old man earlier this month.

The Winnipeg Police Service said in a release that between February 2025 and December 30, 2025, the teen was provided with drugs and alcohol and sexually assaulted on multiple occasions in the man’s home.

The youth eventually contacted police to report what had happened, and after investigating, officers arrested a 55-year-old man.

He is facing a long list of charges, including sexual Interference, administering a noxious thing with the intent to aggrieve or annoy, assault by choking, suffocating or strangling and assault.

He remains in custody.
