A recall involving a popular pizza snack is growing.
On Sunday, General Mills announced it has expanded its voluntary recall of select Pillsbury Pizza Pop products due to possible E. coli contamination.
The first recall, which affected select products sold in Canada with best-before dates of June 9, 2026, to June 14, 2026, came back in December 2025.
The expanded recall now includes best-before dates of June 8, 2026, to June 21, 2026. The products impacted inlcude, Pillsbury 3 Cheese Pizza Pops (4 count and 30 count), Pillsbury Pepperoni Pizza Pops (4 count and 30 count), Supremo Extreme Pepperoni and Bacon Pizza Pops (30 count), Pillsbury Pepperoni and Bacon Pizza Pops (4 count and 30 count), Pillsbury 3 Meat Pizza Pops (4 count) and Pillsbury Deluxe Pizza Pops (4 count, 8 count and 30 count).
Other Pillsbury Pizza Pops products are not affected by this voluntary recall.
“Food safety is General Mills’ top priority, and the company is working closely with retail partners to remove the potentially impacted product,” said General Mills in a statement.
In most cases, according to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, E. coli may not look or smell spoiled, but it can still make a person sick. Some of the symptoms include nausea, vomiting and stomach cramps. In severe cases, people may die.
Anyone with these products in their freezer is encouraged to throw them out or return them to the store where they were purchased.
