Another Winnipeg family now has a place to call home, thanks to Habitat for Humanity.
On Monday, Habitat for Humanity Manitoba held a special key ceremony to welcome Brhane, Feven and their three children into their brand new Habitat home.
“After years of challenges and determination, this family now has a safe place to put down roots, build stability, and watch their children thrive,” said Habitat for Humanity Manitoba.
The pair left Eritrea due to political unrest, married in Uganda and have been separated for 10 years, while waiting to find a permanent home in Canada.
“It’s a story of determination, strength, love and hope, said Habitat for Humanity at the key ceremony. “As a parent myself, I know the depth and sacrifice of waking up every day and wanting to build the best life for your kids.”
This home was sponsored by Habitat’s 2025 Ride Around the Lake, Habitat Manitoba’s largest single fundraising event, where dedicated cyclists rode more than 300 km over three days to help make moments like this possible.
