Man in critical condition after Agnes Street shooting

A 21-year-old man is in hospital with “life-threatening injuries,” according to police, following a shooting on Agnes Street early Wednesday morning.

The Winnipeg Police Service says officers were called to a residence in the 600 block of Agnes Street at approximately 6:55 a.m. on February 11 for reports of an injured man.

Multiple units from across the city, including specialty units, responded to the scene. Police located a 21-year-old man suffering from a life-threatening upper-body injury. Officers provided life-saving measures before the victim was transported to hospital by ambulance in critical condition.

The victim remains in hospital, and due to the severity of his injuries, the Winnipeg Police Service Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation.

No arrests have been made at this time. Police say the investigation is ongoing.
