A security guard is recovering after being robbed and struck with a weapon in downtown Winnipeg during broad daylight.
The incident happened Friday around 1:45 p.m. in the 300 block of Main Street.
Winnipeg police say the man was outside a building when he noticed someone going through his property that was sitting on the ground nearby. When he approached the suspect, the security guard was struck on the head with a metal object.
The suspect fled with the victim’s items before officers arrived on scene.
A driver stopped to help the victim and called police. The victim was taken to hospital in stable condition.
There is no word on an arrest at this time.
