A South Osborne neighbourhood staple is closing its doors for good next month.
The Oakwood, best known for its breakfast and brunch, made the announcement late last week.
“It is time to say goodbye to you, to South Osborne and to the best team an employer could hope to have,” said The Oakwood in a post on social media.
They say that over the past year, constant challenges and demands on falling revenue have made it impossible for their team to stay viable.
“It is therefore with immense regret and sadness that our last day of business will be Sunday, the 8th of March,” said The Oakwood. “If you’d like to visit between now and then to say so long to your favourite server, please be kind. It is a bittersweet end to a dream that was not meant to be.”
The Oakwood says its contents will go up for sale after March 8. Anyone interested in purchasing can contact The Oakwood via email at oakcafe@mymts.net for more information.
“Lastly, thank you to our regulars who have continuously stuck with us, and to those who discovered our little strip mall joint over the years by accident,” said the Oakwood. “We hope to see you one last time before the 8th so we can do our favourite thing: cook for you.”
The Oakwood will officially close its doors on March 8, 2026.
