A man has been arrested after police learned of an inappropriate relationship that began online.
The Counter Exploitation Unit became aware of inappropriate contact between a teenager and a 24-year-old man in February 2026. The man and teenager had met online before meeting in person, where the teen was sexually assaulted.
The suspect contacted the victim through social media and the two met in person on several occasions, during which the teen was sexually assaulted. The assaults took place at a residence in the 300 block of Oakview Avenue.
West District General Patrol officers responded to the location on February 27 and discovered the two together. The assaults were then disclosed to the police.
The investigation was then turned over to the Counter Exploitation Unit.
The 24-year-old suspect was arrested on March 2 for Luring a Person Under 16 years of age by Means of Telecommunication, two counts of Sexual Assault, and two counts of Sexual Interference. He was detained in custody.
