Two women in their 20s are dead following a serious collision just south of Winnipeg Beach.
Selkirk RCMP say a vehicle was travelling south on Highway 8, near Whytewold Road, when it collided head-on with a vehicle travelling north.
The 26-year-old driver of the northbound vehicle, a woman from Gimli, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the southbound vehicle, a 20-year-old from Winnipeg Beach, was transported to hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
It is unclear at this time as to what led to the crash.
Selkirk RCMP, along with the RCMP Forensic Collision Reconstructionist and the Criminal Collision Investigation Team, continue to investigate.
