The four official candidates for Transcona are former Olympian Susan Auch running as an independent, Brad Boudrea running for the Liberals, Shannon Corbett running for the NDP and former city councillor Shawn Nason running as a PC.

The seat was left open after the death of former education minister Nello Altomare, who died after a battle with cancer on Jan. 14.
