With a blizzard warning in effect, the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority is advising clients in advance of possible delays with community health and home care services.
The WRHA says hazardous driving conditions, including weather-related service delays or cancellations, are possible for clients tonight and tomorrow.
“Every effort will be made to maintain existing schedules,” said the WRHA in a statement. “However, some weather-related delays or cancellations may be inevitable.”
Clients whose visits are cancelled will be contacted by phone and notified of the change.
Any clients wishing to cancel their own visits are asked to contact their case coordinator, nurse, or, if after business hours, contact After Hours at 204-788-8331.
“We anticipate that service will resume as per usual once the weather system has cleared, and we apologize in advance for any disruption this may cause our clients.”
The blizzard is expected to roll out of the province by Thursday afternoon.
