With Christmas just over a week away, the Christmas Cheer Board of Winnipeg is asking for a helping hand.

Hundreds of hampers have already been delivered, but over 5,000 more are still waiting in the warehouse, ready to be distributed to families in need.

“Anyone with a vehicle who is willing to spare some time can drop by the warehouse to help with deliveries,” said Shawna Bell, executive director, Christmas Cheer Board of Winnipeg.

Bell is encouraging anyone who can help to stop by during warehouse hours, weekdays from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and weekends from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“There is no need to call ahead or register!” said Bell. “Just come on down to the warehouse, and we’ll send you out with 3-5 hampers to deliver! Any help delivering the magic of the season to Winnipeggers in need is deeply appreciated!”

This year, thanks to the help of over 400 volunteers, the Christmas Cheer Board of Winnipeg was able to pack nearly 10,000 hampers.
