The City of Winnipeg has launched its official election website in preparation for the 2026 City of Winnipeg Municipal and School Boards Election.

While the election is still 10 months away, the city says it is important to share as much information now so people can understand what’s involved with running for public office.

“As we get closer to the election, we hope eligible voters visit the website to find out where and how they can cast their ballot,” said Sherwood Armbruster, Senior Election Official.

The site offers information on the nomination process for interested candidates, voter eligibility, legislation and more, and as the election draws closer, more information will be added to the website.

The 2026 City of Winnipeg Municipal and School Boards, an opportunity to cast a ballot for the offices of mayor, councillor, and school trustee, will take place on October 28, 2026.
