In the midst of a wintry drive home on Friday, some Winnipeggers may have to find an alternate route after a fire.
Shortly before 5:30 p.m. on January 16, a fire closed a stretch of Mountain Avenue.
“Mountain is closed due to a fire between McGregor and Andrews. Several emergency vehicles are on scene,” Winnipeg TMC said on X.
Motorists need to avoid the area.

There is no word on any injuries or what caused the blaze.
