Golden West CEO accepts prestigious King Charles III Coronation Medal for community impact

Golden West CEO Elmer Hildebrand receives King Charles III Coronation Medal from MP Ted Falk.

Elmer Hildebrand, the Chief Executive Officer of Golden West received the King Charles III Coronation Medal from Provencher Member of Parliament Ted Falk Tuesday evening.

The King Charles III Coronation Medal was created to be a visible and tangible way to recognize 30,000 outstanding Canadian individuals of all ages and all walks of life who have made a difference in their communities.

Hildebrand says it is a great honour to receive a medal such as this, noting he shares that honour with everyone at Golden West.

“I think these kinds of awards signify what the organization has done as much as what I’ve done. So, I always appreciate this kind of recognition, but I’m always quick to say that I’m accepting it on behalf of everyone Golden West.”

With radio stations and local news sites across the prairies, including Winnipeg’s CHVN 95.1 FM and Classic 107, Hildebrand says he is very proud of the work that Golden West does to lift up and serve communities.

“I don’t know of any other broadcaster in Canada that gives that kind of support to the local communities and so we’re really, really proud of the kind of service we’ve been able to provide. I’m very proud of all of the employees that make this happen because you can’t do this without some loyal, long-term employees and so that’s really what it’s all about.”

Hildebrand accepted the King’s Coronation Medal alongside many other deserving individuals at a ceremony held in the Mennonite Heritage Village auditorium.

This isn’t the first time Hildebrand has received an award like this. Back in 2012, Hildebrand received the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Award which marked celebrations of the 60th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign.
