Freezing rain combined with ice pellets led to treacherous driving conditions on Manitoba highways.

As a result, a number of highways were closed Sunday, including Highway 5, from Grandview to Sainte Rose du Lac, Highway 10, from Dauphin to the north gate of Riding Mountain National Park and Highway 20, from Fork River to Ochre River.

All highways have since reopened. However, some areas remain slick.

Motorists are encouraged to use caution and drive to the conditions.
