A man has died after suffering a medical event behind the wheel and crashing into parked vehicles in central Winnipeg on Wednesday morning.
Police say officers from the Winnipeg Police Service Traffic Division were called to a motor vehicle collision in the 2000 block of Portage Avenue around 10 a.m. on February 25, 2026.
Emergency crews transported the lone driver, a man in his 40s, to hospital in critical condition. He later died from his injuries.
Investigators determined the driver experienced a medical event while driving westbound on Portage Avenue, causing his vehicle to leave the roadway and strike a series of parked vehicles along the north side of the street.
Police say no one else was injured in the collision.
Winnipeg police continue to investigate.
