Manitoba Hydro warns customers of email scam

Some Manitoba Hydro customers have been targets of a new email scam.

Manitoba Hydro said that some have received an email mimicking a ‘bill is ready’ email. 

While it appears similar to an email from Manitoba Hydro, there are some noticeable differences. 

• Real emails are sent from notifications@hydro.mb.ca.
• The displayed portion of the customer’s service address is correct. 
• The displayed portion of the customer’s account number is correct. 

If any of the information is not correct, Manitoba Hydro is urging customers not to reply or click any links, and to delete the email.

Those with an online account will be able to log in directly from a web browser or the official Manitoba Hydro app to check their account balance and see if a new bill has been issued.
