A new initiative launched this month will help communities across the province access the equipment needed to play basketball.

Basketball for All is designed to strengthen community engagement and increase physical activity by offering free basketballs to high-need communities.

With support from the Manitoba Government and the From The Ground Up funding program, and in partnership with Wilson Sports, Basketball Manitoba now has over 1,000 new balls ready to be distributed to various schools, agencies and community groups serving youth who lack access to equipment.

“These basketballs will be directed to communities where access to affordable recreation is limited, helping foster inclusion, belonging, and positive activity for children and youth,” said Basketball Manitoba.

Organizations interested in receiving free basketballs are invited to sign up here.
