A 38-year-old man is in custody after assaulting a Winnipeg Transit driver in Crestview.
Winnipeg police say on Thursday at around 1 a.m., a passenger on the bus began to cause a disturbance. It eventually got to the point where he threatened and then physically assaulted the transit operator.
Officers arrived at the scene to find the suspect near the bus. A search of the 38-year-old man led police to discover that he was carrying a small utility knife. He was arrested without incident.
The 35-year-old victim suffered minor injuries to his upper body but did not require a trip to the hospital.
The 38-year-old suspect is facing a long list of charges including assault, uttering threats and possession of a weapon.
He remains in custody.
