Siloam Mission is looking for a helping hand after an uptick in the amount of people using their services following a fire last week that destroyed the Manwin Hotel and damaged the neighbouring Main Street Project.

Since the destructive fire, Siloam Mission has welcomed neighbours from the Main Street Project, and they are now running low on some essential items.

Some of the items they are in most need of include:

  • Non-perishable food items
  • Coffee
  • Peanut butter
  • Winter jackets
  • New underwear
  • New socks

“These everyday items can make a powerful difference,” said Siloam Mission in a post on Facebook. “A warm jacket, a fresh pair of socks, or a hot cup of coffee can offer comfort, care, and a sense of support during a difficult moment, especially on a winter day. Your generosity could bring warmth and comfort to someone in need.”

Donations can be dropped off at 300 Princess Street at the Henry Avenue entrance Monday to Saturday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

“Thank you for your kindness and for showing up for our neighbours experiencing homelessness.”
