Some schools closed, buses cancelled Friday as storm moves out

Some areas of southern Manitoba are still digging out after a low pressure system brought heavy snow to parts of the province this week.

While Winnipeg escaped the worst of the storm, other areas received up to 25 centimetres of snow in total.

That’s resulted in some school closures and bus cancellations on Friday morning.

School closures

• Portage la Prairie School Division – Hutterian Colony Schools are closed (all schools in Portage la Prairie and Oakville School are open)

Bus cancellations

• Portage la Prairie School Division – all buses cancelled
• Long Plain School – all buses cancelled
• Mountain View School Division – all Roblin buses cancelled
