Staff and students at St. John’s High School have been told to stay home Monday morning.

The decision comes after a threat was made toward the school Sunday evening.

“Due to a threat in the neighbourhood, St. John’s High School is closed this morning out of an abundance of caution,” said the school in a statement online.

The Winnipeg Police Service is investigating.

No further details about the nature of the threat have been released at this time.

Parents and guardians are being advised to monitor the school’s communications for updates throughout the day.

This comes just days after a separate threat was reported at Bernie Wolfe School, highlighting ongoing concerns about school safety in the city.

More details to come.
