
A 32-year-old old man is facing several drug and weapon related charges after police attended an apartment complex in the West End on an unrelated matter.
While at apartment, which was located in the 400 block of Langside Street, officers noticed a suspicious male in a common area of the complex.
Officers spotted drug paraphernalia near the man and noticed him attempting to hide a large amount of money.
Officers arrested the man without incident and a search of the suspect led officers to discover and seize approximately 20 grams of methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $1,000, a loaded gold and black coloured pellet gun, a 3-inch folding knife, a canister of red spray paint, drug packaging materials, a cell phone and approximately $330 in Canadian currency.
While searching the man’s bag, they also located a hatchet and 36 rounds of .22 calibre ammunition.
There was also a can of red spray paint consistent with fresh red coloured graffiti in the common area of the apartment complex.
The 32-year-old suspect is facing a long list of charges.
He was released on two Undertakings as mandated by the Criminal Code.
