Winter lovers have something to look forward to this weekend at Assiniboine Park.
The popular park is hosting a free three-day outdoor celebration, ‘We Are Winter,’ inviting Winnipeggers to get outside, embrace the season and enjoy the great outdoors.
The event features a variety of activities for all ages, including outdoor movie nights with Frozen 2 and Happy Feet, live music, and guided snowshoe tours.
There will also be free skate, ski and ice cycle rentals, along with free skiing and skating lessons.
For those who like to stay warm, the park will have bonfires, hot chocolate, s’mores, and other warm-up locations throughout the festival.
Adding a little extra winter joy, horse-drawn sleigh rides will be offered Saturday only for a small fee.
‘We are Winter’ runs from January 9 to January 11 at Assiniboine Park.
