Winnipeg police secure Empress Street Walmart following serious incident

Winnipeg police say the scene at the Empress Street Walmart has now been secured and there is no longer a threat to public safety.

The WPS updated a post shared on social media saying that emergency crews may still be on scene as the investigation continues, and they are asking Winnipeggers to allow crews to work.

Earlier in the evening, Winnipeg police asked Winnipeggers to avoid the area as they were dealing with a serious incident.

There is no word on what happened or if any injuries were reported.
