Main Street Project was blessed with a special gift last week.
Winnipeg resident Katherine, with help from the owners of Original Burgers & Subs and the Foodfare on Lilac Street, dropped off 400 freshly made sandwiches last week.
Original Burgers & Subs and Foodfare on Lilac Street donated the food and ingredients, and also helped to prepare the sandwiches.
“Because of you, hundreds of people experiencing homelessness in Winnipeg will have something nourishing, filling, and comforting to eat,” said Main Street Project in a post on social media.
Main Street Project says this donation goes along way as their food bank continues to recover following a fire last month that destroyed a neighbouring building and damaged a section of Main Street Project.
“This kind of kindness means more than we can put into words,” said Main Street Project. “Thank you for caring and stepping up to help.”
