Quarterback Chris Streveler will remain with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
On Saturday, the club announced they had re-signed Streveler to a one-year contract.
Streveler returned to the team last season after a short stint with the NFL.
Unfortunately, Streveler suffered a major knee injury during the Banjo Bowl, ending his season prematurely.

Streveler played a vital role in the Bombers’ 2019 Grey Cup run, playing backup to starting QB Matt Nichols. Once Nichols was injured in mid-August in a game against the B.C. Lions, Steveler led the team to a 1-4 record before the teams acquired verteran quarterback Zach Collaros from the Toronto Argonauts in a trade deadline-day transaction.
After the big win, Streveler took an opportunity in the States, spending four seasons with the Arizona Cardinals.
Streveler responded to the news simply saying “The journey continues…”
The Bombers 2025/26 season will kick off on Thursday, June 12 at 7:30 p.m. with a game against the B.C. Lions.
