Winnipeg Goldeyes offer annual baseball camp this weekend

An annual skills camp giving kids the opportunity to learn baseball with members of the Winnipeg Goldeyes is returning this weekend. 

The Princess Auto/Winnipeg Goldeyes Winter Skills Camp is taking place on December 13 and 14 at the Home Run Sports Training Centre (905 King Edward Street). 

The sold-out camp is for kids aged seven through 12 and will feature four three-hour sessions:

  • Saturday, December 13 – 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 Noon
  • Saturday, December 13 – 12:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, December 13 – 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
  • Sunday, December 14 – 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 Noon

Goldeyes’ players and coaches Max Murphy, catcher Kevin García, Bullpen Coach Danny Perron, General Manager Andrew Collier will serve as instructors. 

Participants will need to bring their own glove, bat, and batting helmet (optional). All of the other needed equipment will be provided. 

As the kids will be running throughout the session, organizers ask they dress in something comfortable and bring a water bottle. Organizers are asking to ensure all gloves, water bottles, etc. are labeled. 

Attendees will also receive a Goldeyes long sleeve t-shirt, prizes, and autograph opportunities.
